The Lord Mayor’s Suburban Initiatives Fund

Brisbane City Council - Cr Shayne Suttons Livability Committee

One of the Brisbane City Councils’ Organisation 2010 key issues is to enhance local action and community engagements through neighbourhood planning and Livability Committees, funded in 2008 by the “Lord Mayor’s Suburban Initiative Fund”.

Our local councillor for the Morningside Ward, Cr Shayne Sutton, has convened a Livability Committee to recommend projects to receive grants as part of “Lord Mayor’s Suburban Initiative Fund”.

The GLC has been fortunate to secure a grant for assisting with the cost of infrastructure needs in the staging of the ‘Big Night Out’.

We are also very grateful to Cr Shayne Sutton for her additional, generous, in-kind support in facilitating the borrowing of necessary grounds equipment for the event that would otherwise have to be hired or purchased.
